Hyundai Hysco Orders Inaugural CVGL Facility from SMS Demag

01 April 2005 - Hyundai Hysco, Korea, has placed the first order for SMS Demag's Continuous Vertical Galvanizing Line (CVGL) facility. SMS Demag will incorporate the CVGL into an existing annealing line (CAL) at Rotem, a company of the Hyundai group.

Concast to Supply 8-Strand Billet Caster for Colakoglu

01 April 2005 - Turkish steelmaker Colakoglu Metalurji AS has placed an order with Concast AG, Zurich, for a single All-Convex continuous caster. The caster, which will have a capacity to produce two million tonnes per year, is part of the company’s plant renewal program in Gebze, Turkey.

Duisburg Steel Producers Extend Long-term Supply Agreements

01 March 2005 - Three Duisburg steel companies — ThyssenKrupp Stahl AG, Mittal Steel Ruhrort and TSTG Schienentechnik — have enjoyed close ties in the supply of pig iron and crude steel for more than seven years. The ties are based on contractual arrangements set up in 1997 covering a ten-year period upon the sale of the Ruhrort and Hochfeld plants by the former Thyssen Stahl AG.
