29 April 2007 - Mittal Steel Poland is successfully operating its Danieli-upgraded double-strand wire rod mill in Sosnowiec, following the installation of a new walking beam furnace, high speed roughing mill, on line heat treatment, and coil-forming/coil finishing facilities.
Siemens to Supply Skinpass Mill for Jisco
29 April 2007 - Jiuquan Iron & Steel Group recently placed an order with the Siemens Industrial Solutions and Services Group to supply a new four-high skinpass mill that incorporates an uncoiler with automatic coil positioning and centering and an automatic elongation control system.

27 April 2007 - Figures released by the International Iron and Steel Institute show that world crude steel production for the 67 countries reporting stood at an estimated 110.9 million tonnes in March — 8.6% higher than for March 2006.
