Student Program Administrator 

Location: Warrendale, PA (on-site)
Travel: Approximately 15%

Position Summary

The Association for Iron & Steel Technology (AIST) is seeking a motivated professional to support and expand our student outreach and professional membership programs. This position plays a key role in engaging students and faculty, coordinating student activities, and supporting the growth of future industry professionals.

Working within AIST’s Membership Department, the Student Program Administrator collaborates closely with internal teams and partner organizations to strengthen the student-to-professional pipeline and deliver high-quality service to our global membership.

 Key Responsibilities

Student Outreach & Engagement

  • Serve as the primary contact for students, faculty, and campus chapter leaders.
  • Support student chapters and initiatives that encourage participation and leadership.
  • Plan and coordinate student-focused activities and events (virtual and in-person).
  • Assist students transitioning to early-career professional membership.

 Member Services & Department Support

  • Respond promptly and professionally to member inquiries.
  • Maintain accurate records in the association database (iMIS).
  • Provide administrative support for membership initiatives and fulfillment tasks.

 Communications & Content Creation

  • Draft and edit content for student program marketing materials, emails, and web pages.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing team to promote student engagement across digital channels.
  • Maintain consistent, professional communication with a diverse global audience.

 Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, communications, or related field.
  • 1–3 years of relevant experience (internships and co-ops welcome).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and comfort working in databases.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills; ability to balance multiple priorities.

Preferred:

  • Experience working in a nonprofit, association, or membership organization.
  • Familiarity with iMIS or other association management systems.
  • Cross-cultural communication or international stakeholder experience.
  • Collaborative, team-oriented approach and commitment to member service excellence.
