Membership and Chapters
University students can join AIST by becoming a member of Material Advantage. Material Advantage is a joint program that provides students with a single, low-cost membership ($30) to four professional organizations serving the materials science and engineering community. Depending on your country of residence, you may qualify for a discount on the membership fee. Visit materialadvantage.org for details.
In addition to the Association for Iron & Steel Technology (AIST), the other organizing partners are:
The American Ceramic Society
ASM International
TMS – The Minerals, Metals & Materials Society
AIST, along with our Material Advantage partners, has gathered resources to help students find financial assistance. More than US$800,000 in scholarships and grants is available through Material Advantage.
The price is US$30 but students in regions of the world with certain economic trends, as defined by The World Bank, have been reduced to US$15 per year.
