23 June 2008 - World crude steel production for the 67 countries reporting to IISI stood at an estimated 119.5 million tonnes in May 2008 — 5.8% higher than for the same month of 2007, but only 2.9% higher than the previous month, April 2008.

IISI Provides Short Range Outlook for Steel Industry
16 April 2008 - In its just-released short-range outlook, the International Iron and Steel Institute forecasts that 2008 will still be another strong year for the steel industry, with apparent steel use projected to rise 6.7%, to 1282 million tonnes in 2008.

World Crude Steel Production Reaches All-Time-High in 2007
28 January 2008 - World crude steel production reaches an estimated 1343.5 million tonnes in 2007, a 7.5% increase in production compared to 2006. The total marks the fifth consecutive year that world steel production grew by more than 7%.
