Posco’s Emissions-Reducing Efforts Recognized by Worldsteel
08 September 2010 - Posco recently received a Climate Action Member certificate from the World Steel Association (Worldsteel) for its efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Posco has been issued the certificate of recognition for two consecutive years.

08 September 2010 - Mechel OAO announced that the Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin commissioned a new electric steelmaking complex at Izhstal OAO. The new facility comprises an electric arc furnace with a capacity of 40 tonnes and a continuous slab caster.
Severstal Reports Financial Results for 2nd Quarter, First Half of 2010
08 September 2010 - OAO Severstal reports a net profit of $192 million on revenue of $4.245 billion for the second quarter, and a net loss of $593 million on revenue of $7.387 billion for the first half of 2010.

SMS Meer to Supply Universal Mill to OAO Novokuznetsk Iron & Steel
07 September 2010 - OAO Novokuznetsk Iron & Steel has placed an order with SMS Meer for a new universal rail and section mill. The mill is designed for a capacity of 1.3 million tonnes per year, 950,000 tonnes of which are rails.
Posco to Purchase Daewoo International Shares
07 September 2010 - Posco signed a share sale and purchase agreement with Kamco, the head of Daewoo International Joint Sales Council, on August 30, acquiring approximately 68% of Daewoo International shares totaling 68,681,566 shares. Posco was selected as a preferred bidder this past May.

01 September 2010 - Corus Specialty Steels has increased transaction prices for its aerospace products by between 4% and 10% on orders acknowledged for delivery after January 1, 2011. The price increase will apply to the full range of air melted and remelted products in ingot, slab, billet, bar, and coil form.
