19 November 2010 - voestalpine Group reported that its EBIT increased almost tenfold in the first half of the business year 2010/11, up to 414.2 million EUR compared to 42.7 million EUR in the same period last year. Net income was 249.7 million EUR.

18 November 2010 - Avdiivka Coking and Chemicals Plant has started test operation of the closed coking gas cooling unit at the second section of Collection Shop #1. This is the final phase of the coking gas final cooling system reconstruction, which reduces annual emissions of chemical substances by more than 2,000 tonnes.

ThyssenKrupp Steel Europe Builds Dedusting System

17 November 2010 - ThyssenKrupp Steel Europe has begun a project in Duisburg that it says will reduce particulate emissions by 450 tonnes per year. The company is building an additional filter to capture sinter plant dust. Completion is scheduled for October 2011.

Hertwich Receives Orders for Ultrasonic Inspection Stations, Batch Homogenizing Facility

16 November 2010 - Hertwich Engineering has been awarded four orders for ultrasonic billet inspection stations, all of them of helical type for volume inspection. Dubai Aluminium Co. Ltd. also placed an order with Hertwich Engineering for the supply and commissioning of a batch homogenizing facility.

Evraz Reports Nine-Month, Q3 Results

16 November 2010 - Evraz Group S.A. reported that revenue for the nine-month period ended September 30, 2010, was US$9,729 million and adjusted EBITDA was US$1,766 million, with adjusted EBITDA margin of 18.2%.

JFE Steel, Maruichi Steel Tube, and Toyota Tsusho to Acquire Spiral Steel Pipe Maker

16 November 2010 - JFE Steel Corp., Maruichi Steel Tube Ltd., and Toyota Tsusho Corp. announced that they will wholly acquire Vietnamese spiral steel pipe manufacturer Jeong An Vina Co., Ltd. for about 18 billion won (about 1.3 billion yen) from Jeong An Steel Co., Ltd. of South Korea.

15 November 2010 - ArcelorMittal has mailed to Baffinland Iron Mines Corp. security holders its offer and takeover bid circular and Baffinland's directors' circular in connection with the previously announced supported takeover bid to be made by ArcelorMittal for all of Baffinland's outstanding common shares and all outstanding common share purchase warrants issued pursuant to a warrant indenture dated January 31, 2007.

Outokumpu Delivers Steel for Mexican Monument

15 November 2010 - Mexico is building a 104-meter-high monument in central Mexico City to celebrate its 200 years of independence. The stainless steel for the "Estela de Luz" ("Trail of light") monument will be delivered by Outokumpu to the project's main contractor Euroguarco in Italy.

NLMK Reports Q3 2010 RAS Financial Results

15 November 2010 - Novolipetsk Steel has announced its Q3 2010 Russian Accounting Standards (RAS) financial results for its major companies. In Q3 2010, NLMK (the main production site) and NSMMZ (the main Long Products Division company) reported revenue increases to RUR47.8 billion and RUR9.3 billion, respectively.

Tata Steel Declares Q2, First-Half Results

15 November 2010 - During the first half of the financial year 2010-11 (H1 FY’11) ending September 30, 2010, Tata Steel Group recorded profit after tax of Rs 3,804 crores (US$847 million) compared to a loss of Rs 4,916 crores (US$1.09 billion) in H1 FY’10. The Group’s profit after tax for Q2 FY’11 of  Rs 1,979 crores (US$440 million) was around 8.5% higher than the profit of Rs 1,825 crores (US$406 million) in Q1 FY’11.

Outokumpu Recognized for Corporate Responsibility

12 November 2010 - Outokumpu's corporate responsibility reporting for 2009 was ranked third in the Finnish corporate responsibility reporting review. For the 2007 and 2008 reports, the company's reporting was ranked first.
