Evraz Group Appoints Director of Lean

In support of its key priorities — cost reduction and efficiency improvements through best practice operations and process management — Evraz Group announced the appointment of Scott Baus as Director of Lean.
 
In his new position, Baus will report directly to Evraz’s CEO.
 
“I am sure that Scott Baus’s extensive experience will help Evraz introduce the most advanced lean practices at Evraz’s enterprises that will enhance their efficiency and competitiveness,” said Alexander Frolov, Evraz’s CEO.
 
Baus, a leading expert in Lean management, has successfully led multiple programs as a General Manager for The Boeing Co. As Vice President for Simpler Consulting, he was responsible for the startup and implementation of the Royal Air Force, the Whole Navy Transformation and the United States Air Force in Europe AFSO21 (Air Force Smart Operations 21) programs.
 
More recently Baus worked with Singapore’s Ministry of Health and the National Healthcare Group on improving systems to deliver better health care, as well as with Russia’s United Aircraft Corp. and Sberbank. He has also lectured at the Skolkovo business school as an expert on Lean management and has participated on numerous councils for business improvement across the world.
 
Baus graduated from the University of Butler (Indiana) with a degree in Engineering and also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Wichita State University (Kansas). He also completed post-graduate courses on technical projects at Wichita State University and has studied at the Toyota Co. in Japan and Georgetown (Kentucky).
