Siemens Expands EAF Volume, Productivity for Çolakoglu Metalurji A.S.

19 October 2011 - Turkish steel producer Çolakoğlu Metalurji A.S. recently granted Siemens VAI Metals Technologies the final acceptance certificate for its modernization of EAF No. 1 in the Gebze Plant. The upgrade allowed the producer to boost EAF overall productivity by 12% without any change in tapping weight.

18 October 2011 - ОАО Severstal launched a major environmental project aimed at reducing atmospheric emissions at the Cherepovets Steel Mill. It signed an agreement with Siemens VAI Metals Technologies to supply and install a sophisticated system for capturing emissions from plant converters, to be installed over the next four years.

OAO Severstal to Supply Rolled Metal for New Kia Rio

17 October 2011 - ОАО Severstal has begun to supply rolled metal for making a front roof panel for the new Kia Rio model. It previously had reached an agreement for the Hyundai Solaris sedan and hatchback. Through nine months of 2011, Severstal has delivered more than 4500 tonnes of rolled metal to the Hyundai plant in St. Petersburg.
