Guangzhou JFE Steel Sheet Starts up 2nd Continuous Galvanizing Line
04/05/2012 - Guangzhou JFE Steel Sheet Co., Ltd. has begun operating a second 400,000-tonne/year continuous galvanizing line, part of an integrated production system encompassing cold rolling, continuous annealing, and two hot-dip galvanizing lines.
Guangzhou JFE Steel Sheet Co., Ltd (GJSS), a joint venture between JFE Steel Corp. and Guangzhou Iron and Steel Enterprises Holdings Ltd., has begun operating a second continuous galvanizing line, part of an integrated production system encompassing cold rolling, continuous annealing, and two hot-dip galvanizing lines.
The 400,000-tonne/year continuous galvanizing line, which raises GJSS’s annual capacity for hot-dip-galvanized steel sheet to 800,000 tonnes, will help the company to meet increasing demand for high-end steel in China.
As part of a major ongoing expansion at GJSS, a cold rolling mill (1.8 million tonnes/year) and a continuous annealing line (1 million tonnes/year) entered commercial production in July and August 2011, respectively.
GJSS, JFE Steel, and Guangzhou Iron and Steel plan to continue their cooperation in providing stable supplies of cold-rolled steel sheet and hot-dip-galvanized steel sheet to customers in China, particularly companies in the automobile and electrical appliance industries.
