Baosteel Wins Approval for High-Grade Oriented Silicon Steel Production Technology
04/09/2012 - Baosteel's "low-temperature high magnetic induction oriented silicon steel manufacturing technology development and industry" successfully passed expert appraisal. The appraisal meeting was organized by the China Steel Association.
Baosteel's "low-temperature high magnetic induction oriented silicon steel manufacturing technology development and industry" successfully passed expert appraisal. The appraisal committee agreed that the project reaches a "world leading" level, changes the situation of China's long-term dependence on high-grade oriented silicon steel importation, and indicates that China now has core competencies from R&D and production line self-integration to industrialization in the field of oriented silicon steel.
China Steel Industry Association Party secretary and vice president Liu Zhenjiang, Baosteel Group Co., Ltd. Chairman Xu Lejiang, appraisal committee experts, as well as Baosteel silicon team representatives attended the appraisal meeting.
After 10 years of research and four years of production practice, Baosteel has achieved its goal of "bulk, stable production of high-grade oriented silicon steel with reasonable cost," and achieved a full high-grade product range, with 10 brands of products filling the domestic blank. Baosteel high-grade oriented silicon steel is used in key national projects such as the Three Gorges Project. The project has formed a complete independent intellectual property rights system, according to Baosteel; it has applied for 29 invention patents, 47 utility model patents, and 405 technical secrets.
The appraisal meeting is organized by China Steel Association. The appraisal committee is hosted by Chinese Academy of Engineering academian Gan Yong, Yin Ruiyu, and State Council Three Gorges Construction Committee Three Gorges 3rd phase project equipment manufacturing quality inspection group leader Lu Yansun. A total of 15 experts and user representatives including Chinese Academy of Engineering academian Wang Guodong and China Steel Association vice chairman Wang Xiaoqi participate in the meeting.
Appraisal committee members inspect Baosteel's oriented silicon steel production site; listen to the project development, user application, and economic benefits report; and ask technical questions on Baosteel oriented silicon steel R&D and production line self-integration and industrialization.
