26 January 2010 - In a joint project with Precoat Metals, United States Steel Corp. has launched its Weathered Metal Series, which adds weathered copper and weathered galvanized steel to its offering.

13 November 2009 - Posco has completed construction of an annual 270,000-tonne scale API steel pipe factory in Pittsburg, Calif. United Spiral Pipe, established jointly with U.S. Steel and Seah Steel, will manufacture and sell API-certified steel pipes designed for energy transportation.

United Spiral Pipe Dedicates New Facility

04 November 2009 - United Spiral Pipe, a joint venture of U.S. Steel, Posco, and SeAH Steel, recently dedicated its new spiral welded pipe manufacturing facility in Pittsburg, Calif., that will produce 300,000 net tons of line pipe per year at its peak.

16 October 2009 - EPA Region 5 withdraws its earlier objections to a 2007 version of Indiana's wastewater discharge permit for U.S. Steel's Gary Works. EPA is withholding final judgment on the new draft permit until a 45-day comment period is completed.

12 October 2009 - U.S. Steel Canada and ArcelorMittal have entered into an agreement with Consolidated Thompson Iron Mines, providing for the purchase by Consolidated of U.S. Steel Canada's 44.6% interest and ArcelorMittal's 28.6% interest in Wabush Mines.
