History of the AIST Philadelphia Member Chapter
The AIST Philadelphia Member Chapter was formed in 2004 with the merger of the Association of Iron and Steel Engineers (AISE) and the Iron and Steel Society (ISS). Portions of the AISE Philadelphia and Baltimore District Sections, as well as the ISS Eastern District Section were combined to form the existing Baltimore Member Chapter. The AISE Philadelphia Member Chapter was formed in 1916. The ISS Eastern Chapter was formed in 1974. The AIST Philadelphia Chapter includes Eastern Pennsylvania, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Northern Virginia, Delaware, Southeastern New York, Rhode Island and Connecticut.
