Siemens to Install Hot Metal Desulfurization Technology at ArcelorMittal Monlevade
29 May 2012 - Siemens VAI Metals Technologies has developed a new system for hot metal desulfurization, HM De-S, which combines the pressure-vessel based injection technology for powder agents with the addition of magnesium granules via the patented Simetal Feldhaus process. A hot metal desulfurization system based on the HM-De-S design is currently being constructed for ArcelorMittal Monlevade S.A. in the state of Minas Gerais, Brazil.
