USITC to Continue Cases on Welded Carbon Steel Pipe from India, Oman, UAE, and Vietnam

12 December 2011 - The U.S. Department of Commerce will continue to conduct its antidumping and countervailing duty investigations on imports of circular welded carbon-quality steel pipe from India, Oman, the United Arab Emirates, and Vietnam based on the USITC’s finding of reasonable indication of material injury due to imports of these products.

Steel Import Permits Down 14% in November

09 December 2011 - Steel import permit applications totaled 1,984,000 net tons for the month of November, a 14% decrease from the 2,309,000 permit tons recorded in October according to the latest report from AISI.

USITC Makes Decision on Cut-to-Length Carbon Steel Plate

06 December 2011 - The U.S. International Trade Commission determined that revoking the existing antidumping and countervailing duty orders on cut-to-length carbon-quality steel plate from India, Indonesia, and Korea would be likely to lead to continuation or recurrence of material injury within a reasonably foreseeable time. The existing orders on imports of these products from Italy and Japan will be revoked as a result of the Commission's negative determinations.
