MMK Group Announces Operational Results for Q1 2015

23 April 2015 - MMK Group’s overall crude steel output in Q1 2015 totalled 3,228 thousand tonnes (+5.1% q-o-q; +1.3% y-o-y). Overall steelmaking capacity utilisation at the main Magnitogorsk site in Q1 2015 exceeded 92%. At the same time, converter production operated at 100% of capacity.

22 April 2015 - World crude steel production for the 65 countries reporting to the World Steel Association (worldsteel) was 138 million tonnes (Mt) in March 2015, a -2.7% decrease compared to March 2014.

20 April 2015 - U.S. shipments of steel were essentially flat year-on-year. Canadian results were similar, with a small decline in steel shipments.

Weekly Raw Steel Production - April 11, 2015

14 April 2015 - According to the American Iron and Steel Institute, in the week ending April 11, 2015, domestic raw steel production was 1,621,000 net tons while the capability utilization rate was 68.6 percent. Production was 1,841,000 net tons in the week ending April 11, 2014 while the capability utilization then was 76.6 percent.

Weekly Raw Steel Production - April 4, 2015

07 April 2015 - In the week ending April 4, 2015, domestic raw steel production was 1,600,000 net tons while the capability utilization rate was 67.7 percent. Production was 1,853,000 net tons in the week ending April 4, 2014 while the capability utilization then was 77.1 percent.

worldsteel: February Global Steel Production 0.6% Higher Y-o-Y

20 March 2015 - World crude steel production for the 65 countries reporting to the World Steel Association (worldsteel) was 128 million tonnes (Mt) in February 2015, a 0.6% increase compared to February 2014.

09 January 2015 - SunCoke Energy Partners L.P. reported preliminary fourth quarter 2014 coke production at its Haverhill and Middletown, Ohio, facilities of 452,000 tons up slightly from 445,000 tons in fourth quarter 2013.

ISSF: Global Stainless Steel Production Up 9% in First Nine Months of 2014

02 January 2015 - The International Stainless Steel Forum (ISSF) has released figures for the first nine months of 2014 showing that stainless steel melt shop production increased by 8.9% year–on–year to 30.9 million metric tons. Production increased in all regions except for Central and Eastern Europe.

MSCI: Growth in Service Center Shipments Positive in November

12 December 2014 - The American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI) reported that for the month of October 2014, U.S. steel mills shipped 8,508,477 tons, a 1.6% increase from the 8,372,929 tons shipped in the previous month, September 2014, and a 2.7% increase from the 8,287,553 tons shipped in October 2013.

AISI: September Steel Shipments Down 1.3% From August

26 November 2014 - The American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI) reported that for the month of September 2014, U.S. steel mills shipped 8,372,929 tons, a 1.3% decrease from the 8,480,954 tons shipped in the previous month, August 2014, and a 6.3% increase from the 7,879,747 tons shipped in September 2013.
