ITC to Conduct Sunset Review of Hot-Rolled Steel from Brazil, Japan and Russia
07 July 2010 - The ITC has voted to conduct full five-year (sunset) reviews on a countervailing duty order on hot-rolled flat carbon-quality steel products from Brazil, antidumping duty orders on hot-rolled steel from Brazil and Japan, and a suspended investigation on hot-rolled steel from Russia.

11 June 2010 - The United States International Trade Commission has determined that a U.S. industry is materially injured by imports of prestressed concrete steel wire strand from China that the U.S. Department of Commerce has determined are subsidized and sold at less than fair value.
AISI, Other Associations Call for Currency Reform for China
10 June 2010 - The American Iron and Steel Institute and five other North American steel industry trade associations have sent a letter to the U.S., Canadian and Mexican Trade and Finance Ministers urging “strong and coordinated” efforts to achieve “a large and sustained appreciation” of China’s currency.

09 June 2010 - The Department of Commerce has announced its affirmative preliminary determination in the CVD investigation on imports of drill pipe from P.R. China, noting that Chinese exporters including mandatory respondent DP Master Group have received countervailable subsidies of 15.72%.

Commerce Finds Dumping, Subsidization of PC Strand from China
18 May 2010 - In the antidumping duty investigations on imports of prestressed concrete steel wire strand from China, the Department of Commerce has determined that Chinese producers/exporters have sold the product in the U.S. at 42.97 to 193.55%. In the countervailing duty case, Commerce determined that Chinese producers/exporters have received net countervailable subsidies ranging from 8.85 to 45.85%.
ITC to Uphold Duties on Stainless Wire Rod from Five Countries
17 May 2010 - The U.S. International Trade Commission has determined that revoking the existing antidumping duty orders on stainless steel wire rod from Italy, Japan, Korea, Spain, and Taiwan would likely lead to continuation or recurrence of material injury within a reasonably foreseeable time. Therefore, the existing orders will remain in place.

04 May 2010 - The U.S. International Trade Commission has determined that U.S. industry is materially injured or threatened with material injury by imports of oil country tubular goods from China that Commerce has determined are sold at less than fair value. Commerce will therefore issue an antidumping duty order.
Commerce Initiates Circumvention Investigation on CTL Plate from China
30 April 2010 - The U.S. Department of Commerce is initiating an antidumping circumvention inquiry to determine whether imports of cut-to-length carbon steel plate from P.R. China are circumventing the duty order by containing small amounts of boron.

23 April 2010 - The Department of Commerce announced on April 22 its affirmative preliminary determination in the antidumping duty investigation on imports of certain seamless carbon and alloy steel standard, line, and pressure pipe from P.R. China.
Commerce Finds Dumping of OCTG from China
14 April 2010 - The U.S. Department of Commerce announced on April 9 its affirmative final determination in the antidumping duty investigation on imports of oil country tubular goods from P.R. China. Commerce determined that Chinese producers/exporters have sold OCTG in the United States at margins ranging from 29.94 to 99.14%.

24 March 2010 - The Canadian International Trade Tribunal finds that dumped and subsidized coupling stock OCTG from China had not caused or threatened to the domestic industry, but that dumped and subsidized casing and tubing OCTG from China had.
Commerce Preliminarily Finds Dumping of Magnesia Carbon Brick from China, Mexico
05 March 2010 - The Department of Commerce announced on March 4 that it preliminarily determined that Chinese and Mexican producers/exporters have sold magnesia carbon brick in the United States between 132.74 and 349.00%, and 54.73% less than normal value, respectively.
