SSINA Data Shows Stainless Steel Imports, Consumption Down

11 January 2010 - Imports of total stainless steel in YTD September 2009 were 268,732 tons, a 54.9% decrease compared to the same period of 2008, according to data recently released by The Specialty Steel Industry of North America (SSINA). U.S. consumption was 991,809 tons, down 34.3%.

08 January 2010 - Schnitzer Steel Industries reports diluted earnings per share from continuing operations of $0.23 for its fiscal 2010 first quarter ended November 30, 2009. This compares with diluted loss per share from continuing operations of $1.16 during the first quarter of fiscal 2009.
