Crucible, Latrobe Specialty Steel Distribution to Partner on CPM Marketing
01/13/2010 - Crucible Industries entered into partnership with Latrobe Specialty Steel Distribution for the sales and marketing of Crucible Particle Metallurgy.
Crucible Industries LLC has entered into partnership with Latrobe Specialty Steel Distribution for the sales and marketing of Crucible Particle Metallurgy (CPM).
Under the arrangement, Crucible Industries will manufacture the CPM grades at its Solvay, N.Y., steel mill and Latrobe Specialty Steel Distribution will sell the products through its eight locations in North America.

Crucible's CPM, one of the world's most advanced powder metal materials, is supported by more than 30 years of investment in research and development. A critical input for companies in the automotive, aerospace and tooling industries, CPM is valued by customers for its high quality and performance.

Crucible Industries LLC, located near Syracuse, N.Y., was recently purchased by JP Industries of Cleveland, is the only manufacturer of CPM. The company also produces stainless and other specialty steels.
Latrobe Specialty Steel Distribution, a division of Latrobe Specialty Steel of Latrobe, Pa., is owned by The Watermill Group of Boston, Hicks Equity Partners LLC of Dallas, and Sankaty Advisors of Boston.
