Eisenberg, executive vice president of finance and administration and chief financial officer, plans to leave the company next year when it separates the steel business from its bearings and power transmission (B&PT) business via a spinoff.

06 September 2013 - Recently, the China Iron & Steel Association and the Awards Committee of Metallurgical Science and Technology Awards of the Chinese Society for Metals officially announced the evaluation and selection results of Metallurgical Science and Technology Awards 2013. Out of a total of 76 award-winning projects, Baosteel won nine awards — the only Grand Prize awarded, two 1st place prizes, four 2nd place prizes, and two 3rd place prizes.

AISI: U.S. Steel Import Permits Up 7% in August

04 September 2013 - The American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI) reported that steel import permit applications for the month of August total 2,686,000 tons: a 7% increase from the 2,508,000 permit tons recorded in July and 9% increase from the July preliminary imports total of 2,475,000 tons.

Severstal North America Announces Appointment of New CEO
