Posco Green Growth Committee Declares Emissions Reduction Goals
09 February 2010 - Posco has decided to cut down on carbon dioxide emissions by 9% based on the average of the three most recent years by 2020, as well as to reduce 14 million tonnes of social carbon emissions through manufacturing of energy-efficient steel products and green growth businesses.

08 February 2010 - ArcelorMittal South Africa has announced the appointment of Johnson Njeke, who has served as independent non-executive director on its board since January 2002, as full-time chairman. He replaces Dr. Khotso Mokhele. The company also welcomes Malcolm Macdonald as an independent, non-executive director to its board.
Tata Steel Posts Production and Sales Growth
08 February 2010 - Tata Steel surpassed 600,000 tonnes monthly finished steel production for the first time in January 2010, with 607,000 tonnes of saleable steel representing an 11% increase over last January’s production of 548,000 tonnes.

05 February 2010 - Feralpi Siderurgica SpA has placed an order with Siemens VAI Metals Technologies for a new intermediate mill for its rebar rolling mill No. 1. The plant will be able to roll billets with a larger cross-section when the modernization project is completed in fall 2010.
