VSB Produces First Steel Pipe from Steelworks in Brazil
20 December 2010 - Vallourec & Sumitomo Tubos do Brasil Ltda (VSB) began a test operation at its integrated seamless pipe steelworks, successfully piercing its first billet recently. Following the completion of the rolling mill, upstream facilities including charcoal blast furnaces will begin operation in the second quarter of 2011.

14 April 2010 - The U.S. Department of Commerce announced on April 9 its affirmative final determination in the antidumping duty investigation on imports of oil country tubular goods from P.R. China. Commerce determined that Chinese producers/exporters have sold OCTG in the United States at margins ranging from 29.94 to 99.14%.

Posteel Opens New Pipe Plant in Oman
19 March 2010 - Posteel recently opened Gulf International Pipe Industry (GIPI), a new 250,000-tonne production facility specializing in API pipes based in Sohar, Oman. Posteel will supply 100,000 tonnes of hot-rolled coils annually to GIPI, which are needed to produce the pipes.
