Wheatland Tube to Expand Drawn Over Mandrel Product Line

Wheatland Tube announced plans to make a significant investment in its Drawn Over Mandrel (DOM) Mechanical Tubing product capacity and product capabilities.

“We are excited to be able to bring the strength of our company to bear in order to better service this important segment of our business,” said David Seeger, President of JMC Steel Group. “We will expand our DOM tubing product offerings to our customers while maintaining our industry-recognized levels of delivery reliability, quality, and service.”

The planned investment will expand the company’s total DOM production capacity at its Church St. facility in Wheatland, Pa. The upgrade will also enable Wheatland to expand its size range capability in DOM products, which are used in a variety of applications including agricultural equipment, automotive parts, hydraulic equipment, fluid power applications, and machined parts.

Customers will now be able to source a complete range of mechanical tubing products from Wheatland Tube as it increases its production capacity within its existing size range and produces larger DOM sizes up to 9.000" outside diameter.

“This expansion will position our company for continued growth in this dynamic product line,” added Seeger.

Wheatland Tube, a division of the JMC Steel Group, was founded in 1931 to produce steel pipe.
