Essar Steel Commissions 6 MTPA Integrated Pellet Complex in India
02 December 2014 - Essar Steel announced the commissioning of an integrated Pellet Complex in State of Odisha, India, comprised of an iron ore beneficiation facility at Dabuna (Keonjhar), 6 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) Pellet plant at Paradeep (Jagatsinghpur) and 253 kms long slurry pipe line with 12 MTPA carrying capacity connecting the beneficiation facility and pellet plant.
Preliminary U.S. Steel Imports Rose 13% in October
02 December 2014 - Based on preliminary U.S. Census Bureau data, the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI) reported that the U.S. imported a total of 4,398,000 tons of steel in October, including 3,396,000 tons (tons) of finished steel (up 12.8% and 14.9%, respectively, vs. September final data).
