Olympic Steel Names Andrew Wolfort General Manager of Schaumburg Operation
04/15/2015 - Olympic Steel Inc., a national metals service center, announced Andrew Wolfort has been promoted to General Manager of the Company's operation in Schaumburg, Ill.
Mr. Wolfort, 31, initially joined Olympic Steel in 2005 as a general laborer in the Company's Cleveland warehouse facility. He returned to the company in a full-time capacity in 2007 working as an inside sales representative at the Schaumburg facility.
In 2008, Mr. Wolfort transitioned to outside sales, before being named Sales Manager at the Bettendorf, Iowa facility in 2010. He began his most recent role as Regional Sales Manager in 2011; and, was based at the Company's Gary, Indiana facility where he was instrumental in the start-up of Olympic Steel's newest temper mill.
As General Manager – Schaumburg, Wolfort will report to Andrew Greiff, President – Specialty Metals.
"As Regional Sales Manager, Andrew generated significant sales and tonnage growth by further developing the Midwest territory and acquiring a number of new accounts," Mr. Greiff said. "We look forward to his continuing contributions in this new role, as we grow our Schaumburg operation."
Mr. Wolfort earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from The University of Colorado at Boulder, and completed the Metals Service Center Institute's (MSCI) Strategic Metals Management program at the Olin Business School at Washington University, in St. Louis.
