Consortium Receives German Future Award for “Horizontal Strip Casting of Steel” Project

26 November 2014 - German Federal President Joachim Gauck presented the “German Future Award – Federal President’s Award for Technology and Innovation” in Berlin on 19 November 2014. The project partners are Salzgitter Flachstahl GmbH, SMS Siemag AG, and the Technical University of Clausthal.

AISI: September Steel Shipments Down 1.3% From August

26 November 2014 - The American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI) reported that for the month of September 2014, U.S. steel mills shipped 8,372,929 tons, a 1.3% decrease from the 8,480,954 tons shipped in the previous month, August 2014, and a 6.3% increase from the 7,879,747 tons shipped in September 2013.
