Saldotecnica Americas: MCE External-Mix Cutting Tips for Continuous Casters Cut Cleaner, Save Gases, Extend Duty Cycle

MCE external-mix cutting tips perform 26–32% faster than conventional internal-mix tips for a shaper edge with less beard, along with a narrower kerf for less material loss. The external-mix technology reduces the volume of oxygen and gases needed for cutting, while the pilot flame system eliminates the flow of oxygen between cuts for additional savings.

Because they use external mixing, MCE cutting tips work farther from the surface of the steel, so there are fewer clogs due to splashing and virtually no possibility of flashback. That means less damage, less of a need for cooling, and a longer duty cycle. In addition, costs for removal and replacement are lower than with conventional internal-mix tips.
