AISI: U.S. Steel Shipments Up 5.6% in First 11 Months of 2012
23 January 2013 - The American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI) reported that steel shipments from January through November 2012 were 88,465,543 tons, a 5.6% increase vs. 2011 shipments of 83,779,688 tons for 11 months.
World Crude Steel Output Increased by 1.2% in 2012
22 January 2013 - World crude steel production reached a record 1,548 million tonnes for the year 2012, led by year-on-year growth in Asia and North America while production declined in the EU and South America.
Asean Iron and Steel Associations Seek Review of FTA with China

AISI: December U.S. Imports Down 11% from November
03 January 2013 - The American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI) reported that U.S. steel import permit applications for the month of December totaled 2,358,000 tons. This was a 10% decrease from the 2,615,000 permit tons recorded in November and down 11% from the November preliminary imports total of 2,659,000 tons.
U.S. Preliminary Imports Rise 2% From October to November
