AISI: Preliminary Steel Imports Increase 4% in April
24 May 2013 - Based on preliminary Census Bureau data, the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI) reported that the U.S. imported a total of 2,680,000 tons of steel in April, including 2,087,000 tons of finished steel (up 4% and 1%, respectively, vs. March final data).

GE and Manufacturing Institute Expand Skills Training Program for U.S. Veterans

22 May 2013 - World crude steel production for the 63 countries reporting to the World Steel Association (worldsteel) was 132 million tonnes in April 2013, an increase of 1.2% compared to April 2012.
