10 May 2013 - The United States International Trade Commission (USITC) determined that there is a reasonable indication that a U.S. industry is materially injured by reason of imports of diffusion-annealed, nickel-plated flat-rolled steel products from Japan that are allegedly sold in the U.S. at less than fair value.

AISI: Import Market Share in U.S. at 23% in April

01 May 2013 - The American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI) reported that steel import permit applications for the month of April total 2,576,000 tons. This was a 3% decrease from the 2,650,000 permit tons recorded in March but up by 4% from the March preliminary imports total of 2,476,000 tons.
