12 December 2014 - The outlook for China's steel market has improved slightly, with expectations of new orders rising and steel output tipped to stay at November levels, according to the latest Platts China Steel Sentiment Index (Platts CSSI), which shows a headline reading of 37.39 out of a possible 100 points in December.

AISI: October Steel Shipments Up 1.6% from September

12 December 2014 - The American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI) reported that for the month of October 2014, U.S. steel mills shipped 8,508,477 tons, a 1.6% increase from the 8,372,929 tons shipped in the previous month, September 2014, and a 2.7% increase from the 8,287,553 tons shipped in October 2013.
