AISI: October Steel Shipments Up 1.6% from September
12/12/2014 - The American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI) reported that for the month of October 2014, U.S. steel mills shipped 8,508,477 tons, a 1.6% increase from the 8,372,929 tons shipped in the previous month, September 2014, and a 2.7% increase from the 8,287,553 tons shipped in October 2013.
Shipments year-to-date in 2014 are 82,632,250 tons, a 3.1% increase vs. 2013 shipments of 80,186,360 tons for ten months.
A comparison of October shipments to the previous month of September shows the following changes: cold rolled sheets, up 3.0%, hot rolled sheets, up 2.0% and hot dipped galvanized sheets and strip, up 1.0%.
