SDI Butler Receives Inaugural Partnership Award from Clopay
12/08/2014 - In October 2014, Steel Dynamic Inc.’s Flat Roll Division—Butler received the inaugural Partnership Award from Clopay Building Products.
“We created this award to recognize a suppler that works with us to achieve a common goal,” says Kristin Bullock, purchasing manager for Clopay Building Products. “SDI not only works with us, but has forged a bond and truly works in unison to achieve a common goal. They have brought ideas to the table for exploration, share similar visions, and possess equal goals, which earned them the Partnership Award at our first Supplier Recognition Event.”
With two manufacturing plants and 49 distribution centers located throughout the United States and Canada, Clopay is North America’s largest residential garage door manufacturer, a preferred supplier of commercial and industrial rolling steel doors, and since 1996, the only garage door brand backed by the Good Housekeeping Seal.
The SDI flat-rolled steel used by Clopay is made at Butler and then either painted at Butler or Jeffersonville. “All of our steel to Clopay goes through two service centers, but we have an excellent relationship that touches on service, quality, and technical support,” says Don Switzer, now manager of sales for the Flat Roll Division—Columbus. “Of course our delivery performance is also excellent.
“We really appreciate receiving this award from Clopay, with whom we’ve enjoyed a longstanding partnership,” Switzer adds. “It’s really an affirmation of our efforts to provide the best materials and customer service at every juncture.”
