21 June 2011 - Siemens VAI Metals Technologies has received an order from ThyssenKrupp Steel Europe AG to completely modernize its hot strip rolling mill no. 1 in Duisburg-Bruckhausen, Germany. Modernization of the hot mill is scheduled for completion in August 2012.

21 June 2011 - Carpenter Technology Corp. and Latrobe Specialty Metals, Inc. have entered into a definitive merger agreement whereby Carpenter will acquire Latrobe in a transaction valued at approximately $558 million.
