Severstal NA Appoints Vice President, Strategy and Business Development
06/22/2011 - Severstal North America announced this week the appointment of Saikat Dey as Vice President, Strategy and Business Development.
Severstal North America announced this week the appointment of Saikat Dey as Vice President, Strategy and Business Development.
In his new position, Dey will be responsible for driving the company's business strategies in North America and leading the parent company's joint venture initiative in India. He also will be a key member of Severstal North America's management team.
Dey joins Severstal North America from McKinsey and Company where he served as Associate Principal in its Cyclical Commodities Service, Global Energy and Materials practice. He worked out of various international locations during his tenure at McKinsey, where he developed into a thought leader on investment strategy, commercial optimization, and operations for cyclical industries. Prior to McKinsey, Dey held positions at IBM and various technology companies.

Dey holds an MBA from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth and an undergraduate degree in Mining Engineering from the National Institute of Technology in India.
