Canadian Tribunal to Initiate Expiry Review of Hot Rolled Plate Imports

14 October 2004 - The Canadian International Trade Tribunal will initiate an expiry review of its June 27, 2000, finding (Inquiry No. NQ-99-004) concerning the dumping in Canada of hot-rolled carbon steel plate from Brazil, Finland, India, Indonesia, Thailand and Ukraine, and the subsidizing of hot-rolled carbon steel plate from India, Indonesia and Thailand.

IISI Reports Crude Steel Production for August 2004

22 September 2004 - World crude steel production for the 62 countries reporting to the International Iron and Steel Institute stood at 675.5 million tonnes for the first eight months of 2004. This level of production represents an 8.5% increase compared to the same period of 2003. Excluding China, worldwide production is 5.3% higher for the year to date (YTD).

ITC to Conduct Sunset Reviews for Stainless Steel Sheet and Strip

08 September 2004 - The U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) has voted to conduct full five-year sunset reviews for countervailing duty and antidumping duty orders on stainless steel sheet and strip from France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Korea, Mexico, Taiwan, and the United Kingdom. The reviews pertain to Inv. Nos. 701-TA-380-382 and 731-TA-797-804 (Review).
