08 May 2015 - On 8 April 2015, Paul Wurth S.A. and the Taiwan-based steelmaker China Steel Corporation (CSC) signed a Co-operation Agreement in the field of upcoming ironmaking plant construction projects in the Southeast Asian region, including material handling, sinter plants, blast furnaces and direct reduction plants.

Launch of ‘Introduction to Steel’ Online Course on edX

07 May 2015 - The World Steel Association (worldsteel) announces the launch of the Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) ‘Introduction to Steel’. The course, developed by TenarisUniversity together with steeluniversity, aims to provide students with an understanding of the history, science, technology and uses of steel by society. The course starts on 2 June 2015 and registration is now open.

06 May 2015 - ArcelorMittal has launched its new high-strength steel grade S390 EK, an innovative, competitive and environmentally friendly solution for the manufacture of silos and tanks. Unlike any other product currently on the market, S390 EK includes two-side enamelling to avoid fish-scaling, thus eliminating the need for specific surface treatments or doped ground enamel, while demonstrating high mechanical properties after enamel firing to withstand load pressure in the silo.
