18 November 2009 - Shipments of steel and aluminum products from U.S. metals service centers increased in October compared to September levels, and inventories for both metals rose slightly, according to the latest Metals Activity Report from the Metals Service Center Institute.

API Steel Pipe Factory Completed in Pittsburg
13 November 2009 - Posco has completed construction of an annual 270,000-tonne scale API steel pipe factory in Pittsburg, Calif. United Spiral Pipe, established jointly with U.S. Steel and Seah Steel, will manufacture and sell API-certified steel pipes designed for energy transportation.
YTD Stainless, Specialty Imports Still Down Through July
13 November 2009 - Total stainless imports reached 206,931 tons through July 2009, a 57.1% decrease compared to YTD July 2008 according to the latest report from SSINA. Total specialty imports reached 275,032 tons through the same period, a 55.2% decrease compared to YTD July 2008.
