14 April 2015 - According to the American Iron and Steel Institute, in the week ending April 11, 2015, domestic raw steel production was 1,621,000 net tons while the capability utilization rate was 68.6 percent. Production was 1,841,000 net tons in the week ending April 11, 2014 while the capability utilization then was 76.6 percent.

08 April 2015 - SunCoke Energy Inc. reported preliminary first quarter 2015 domestic coke production of 998 thousand tons. This is up an estimated 54 thousand tons and reflects favorable production and better coal-to-coke yields this winter as compared to the same prior year period. Domestic capacity utilization for first quarter 2015 is estimated to be 95 percent, as compared to 90 percent for the same prior year period.
