EUROFER Market Update: EU Steel Imports Continue to Rise
14 October 2014 - The latest EU customs statistics show that third country imports remained on a rising trend in July and August: finished steel imports rose 32% year-on-year, compared with a 6% rise in Q1 and 33% rise in Q2, according to analysis from EUROFER.

13 October 2014 - Allegheny Technologies Inc. announced that Terry L. Dunlap, executive vice president, ATI Flat Rolled Products Group, has announced his decision to retire from ATI effective 31 December 2014, and that Robert S. Wetherbee, president, ATI Flat Rolled Products, will succeed Mr. Dunlap as executive vice president of the group effective 1 January 2015.

U.S. Steel Shipments Drop Slightly from July to August
13 October 2014 - The American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI) reported that for the month of August 2014, U.S. steel mills shipped 8,480,954 tons, a 0.1% decrease from the 8,492,744 tons shipped in the previous month, July 2014, and a 1.7% increase from the 8,343,075 tons shipped in August 2013.
