Zekelman Industries to Expand Alabama Facilities
07/23/2024 - Pipe and tube producer Zekelman Industries is investing more than US$6 million in operations in Jefferson County, Ala., USA.
The company said the investment will be split between its Atlas Tube facility along Cleage Drive and a new Wheatland Tube plant in Birmingham. Of the total investment, nearly US$2.3 million will be put toward an expansion of capabilities and capacity at the Atlas Tube facility. Meanwhile, US$3.9 million will be put toward torque tube finishing equipment at the Wheatland Tube facility.
The overall investment is intended to meet new demand from the solar industry, the company said.
