Zekelman Industries Names Tubular COO
07/06/2020 - Canadian and American pipe and tube maker Zekelman Industries has promoted the president of its Atlas Tube business and given him responsibility for a newly created division.
In a statement, the company said Tom Muth has been named executive vice president and chief operating officer, a position in which he’ll lead Zekelman’s new tubular products division. That division includes Wheatland Tube, Western Tube, Atlas Tube, Picoma, and Sharon Tube, which together make more than 2.2 million tons of tubular products annually.
“(Muth) has been instrumental in the success of Atlas Tube, leading expansions, acquisitions and industry-changing e-commerce initiatives. Under his guidance, Atlas Tube has propelled itself to the leading manufacturer of hollow structural sections in North America,” said Zekelman Industries executive chairman Barry Zekelman.
“Muth has more than 30 years of experience in the pipe and tube industry. He joined Atlas Tube in 2005 as vice president of sales for Atlas USA. He was named president in 2013.
Succeeding him as president will be Atlas Tube vice president of operations Jeff Cole. Cole joined Atlas Tube immediately after college and has spent his entire career there.
“Jeff … has since led Atlas operations through our many expansions and shop floor technology initiatives, driving achievement of industry leading key production metrics,” the company said.
