Xinji Aosen Begins Production at New SBQ Rolling Mill
03/05/2025 - Chinese steelmaker Xinji Aosen Steel Group Co. Ltd. marked the start of production at its greenfield rolling mill for special bar quality (SBQ) long products by successfully rolling the first bar.
According to a press release, the bar was rolled on the company’s newly commissioned KOCKS reducing and sizing block RSB® 370++/4 in 5.0 design. The 3-roll RSB® 370++/4 acts as a finishing block after 21 high-velocity stands and rolls straight bars onto the cooling bed with diameters ranging from 20 to 90 mm.
“With the RSB® 370++/4 now operational, Xinji Aosen is well-positioned to meet the demand for high-quality SBQ products, supporting key industries reliably with high-quality long products,” the company said.
The supply also included advanced roll shop equipment, remote control features for stand and guide adjustments, and BAMICON Octopus software and hardware. KOCKS estimates the mill will have an annual capacity of 700,000 metric tons.
