Wuppermann Adopts New SMS Demag Galvanizing Process

Following a successful test phase, Wuppermann Stahl GmbH, Germany, has incorporated the CVGL (Continuous Vertical Galvanizing Line) process into its Judenburg, Austria, hot-dip galvanizing line.

Wuppermann is utilizing this innovative process, which was developed by SMS Demag AG, for the development of new zinc alloys.

In addition to a number of quality-related advantages, the CVGL process offers a higher than usual level of flexibility through the ability to quickly change the zinc baths used in the process. For Wuppermann, this flexibility makes it possible to test a great variety of Al-Mgalloyed zinc baths with small volumes of molten metal at very short time intervals, thus allowing the company to determine the best possible product range obtainable with various alloys.
