World Steel Association Names New Chairman
10/18/2017 - The World Steel Association has elected Nippon Steel & Sumitomo Metal Corp. president Kosei Shindo as chairman, the association has announced.
He was elected to a one-year term during the association’s annual meeting in Brussels, Belgium, this week. He succeeds Nucor Corp. chairman and chief executive John Ferriola. Ferriola was elected as vice chairman.
The association also welcomed four new member companies during the meeting: China Baowu Steel Group; Canada’s Algoma; Australia’s Liberty OneSteel, which formerly was Arrium Ltd.; and Turkish pipe producer Toscelik Profil Ve Sac Endustrisi A.Ş.
