Woodings/Munroe Adds Equipment, New Capabilities to Plants

In a statement, the company said both additions will allow it to better serve steel industry customers, increasing productivity, accuracy and competitiveness.

At its Harmony, Pa., USA, shop, the company is wrapping up installation of a 138"/180" Giddings & Lewis 180 VTC CNC vertical boring mill.  The boring mill will manufacture heavy-duty equipment for the steel and petroleum industries. The mill is expected to be operational next month.

And at its Ringgold, Ga., plant, the company has installed  a new Ajax TOCCO Magnethermic induction furnace , which will expand its production capability of tight return hot bends in tubing for use in equipment for the steel industry. The new furnace is up and running.

"This modern, highly efficient equipment gives us expanded capability that provides greater reliability, increased accuracy and more repeatable results. It's a win-win for us and for our customers,” said Woodings/Munroe president Rob Woodings.
