WMR Plymouth Earns SHARP Recognition
08/13/2014 - On 1 August 2014, Western Metals Recycling’s Plymouth, Utah recycling facility received the prestigious SHARP (Safety & Health Achievement Recognition Program) designation from the Utah Labor Commission.
Plymouth is the fourth Western Metals Recycling (WMR) facility to earn this award. The Salt Lake City, Provo, and Englewood locations also earned this distinguished designation. Western Metals Recycling (WMR) is the largest full-service metals recycler in the Intermountain West.
The Plymouth facility was recognized for its commitment to creating and maintaining a safe and healthy workplace. SHARP is the highest honor OSHA awards to small worksites that demonstrate an exemplary commitment to workplace safety and health.
Plants Managers Jardee Steed and Kevin Christensen, along with General Manager James Ramsey accepted the award on behalf of the entire WMR staff. Jeff Davis, WMR President, thanked employees for their daily contribution to the company’s success, stating, "Safety is recognized and promoted as a core value at WMR. Active participation throughout all levels of the organization is key to the success of our safety process, and we continue to explore new ways to improve safety in our plants. Congratulations to all WMR Plymouth teammates on receiving this important SHARP award."
WMR’s Plymouth recycling center buys ferrous scrap as well as common household nonferrous scrap metal items like aluminum, stainless steel, copper and brass products.
