With Election Settled, Nippon Steel Hopes to Close U. S. Steel Deal
11/07/2024 - Despite president-elect Donald Trump’s promises to block the United States Steel Corporation acquisition, Nippon Steel Corp. executives are hoping they can close the deal before the end of the year.
“We believe we can close the U. S. Steel deal by the end of the year under the current U.S. administration," Takahiro Mori, Nippon Steel's vice chairman, told reporters on Thursday, according to the Reuters news service.
