According to Primetals Technologies, each of the three mills will have an annual production capacity of 720,000 metric tons and a maximum operating speed of 115 m/second. They’ll produce rod ranging from 5.5 mm to 20 mm and from 20 mm to 28 mm; 6 mm to 16 mm rebar; and coils with an inner diameter of 850 mm and an outer diameter of 1,250 mm.

Primetals Technologies did not identify the customer, but said it is one of the largest raw material suppliers for fasteners in northern China. The new mill, which will complement other mills being moved into the company’s main production base, are to start up later this year.
