According to the station, people were standing in line for hours, waiting to fill out an application for one of the 600 positions the company is looking to fill at its planned flat-rolled mill in Sinton, Texas.

One person arrived at 3:15 a.m. for an event that was to have started at 9 a.m. But with scores of people waiting for the doors to open, SDI began the event an hour and a half early, the station said. More than 3,500 applications were submitted, the station reported.
