Based in California, Western Tube & Conduit makes both black and galvanized steel tubing. It will operate under the auspices of Zekelman Industries’ Wheatland Tube division, which sells electrical conduit, fence pipe and mechanical tube. However, Zekelman Industries intends to sell products under both the Wheatland and Western Conduit brands, it said.

"Western Tube and Wheatland Tube offer complementary products and services. Each company will continue to operate in the marketplace as it does today," said Jim Hays, president of electrical, fence and mechanical for Zekelman Industries.   

The deal is expected to close next year.
